Performing Arts Lighting

Lighting for the audience spaces in higher education performing arts facilities serves many purposes. First, the lighting in the lobby areas should highlight the building’s architecture and set the scene for the performance to come. Egress lighting in the seating area should promote wayfinding and enable safe navigation while the house lighting should be flexible to the varying light level needs for before, during and after performances.
